Hey hey hey, Making Joy and Bliss readers! I hope you're having the best Thursday ever! I'm here with yet another beauty box for you. Let me just start by saying, last month's Birchbox was a flop. There wasn't a single thing that I liked, plus, the only product that I thought I'd enjoy arrived damaged. But enough with the negativity from me, because Birchbox turned things around this month! I'm going to start rating each of the products from 1-5, 1 being "wow, that was terrible" to 5 being "I'm totally repurchasing this."
I love receiving moisturizers in these boxes because my skin is so dry. Just when I think I've found my ride or die moisturizer, my skin stops responding to it. I love trying new things that I've never heard of before so it's safe to say I was ready for this one.
For me, it's nothing special. It wasn't a miracle worker for my dry skin, but I think that someone with normal, or combination skin would really enjoy it. I'm definitely going to use it until it's gone, probably before I apply my makeup.
Score: 3/5 Will I be repurchasing it? Nope. Did I enjoy trying it out? Totally.
This product reminded me of how important it is to use a gentle eye makeup remover every night. In the past, I've used the Almay Eye Makeup Remover Pads to remove stubborn makeup. When I ran out of them, I just never remembered to pick them up again at the drugstore. This micellar gel eye makeup remover is awesome. I love how easy it is to take off any eyeliner and mascara instead of scrubbing at my eyes every night with a Neutrogena makeup wipe (hello, wrinkles).
Score: 5/5 I'm obsessed!
If you've never tried Birchbox, there's a super cool feature where each month you get to choose a product that you are guaranteed to receive in your box- it's called your "sample choice". Mine was this product by Jouer and I was so excited about it. I always see these in Nordstrom but have never picked one up. It's just a regular lip moisturizer, and I was very turned off by the subtle rose scent/taste, but that's just my personal preference.
Score: 2/5 It does its job, but it's not my favorite. I'll just keep it in my car for emergency lip care.
First off, this smells incredible. I wish I could get a shampoo that is this scent. When it comes to adding texture and shine, unfortunately, I didn't see a difference. The scent faded, and my hair was just the same. I'm super bummed, and I'm glad I got to try out a sample size considering the full-size product is $42.
Score: 1/5 I'll probably end up using this can up just because of how great it smells, but I won't buy it again.
This is my favorite product from the box this month! This blush serum can be used on either your cheeks or lips, and it is so pigmented. This'll also last me forever since a little product goes a long way! The shade is so pretty and natural, I'm totally in love. I've never really been a blush girl, but this cream color has changed my mind!
Score: 5/5 I will definitely repurchase.
