A Life Update (that nobody asked for)

Well, well, well. Long time no talk! I have been so bad at this blogging thing. Ever since I started my teaching job last year, I feel like all I do is live and breathe those little 3rd graders. I am trying my best to start prioritizing the things that bring me joy, and blogging is one of them.

The holidays are here! Can you believe it? Last year I decorated for Christmas on November 3, but by the time Christmas was over, I was so sick of the clutter that Christmas decor can bring. SOOOO, I am trying my best to wait to decorate until at least the week of Thanksgiving. That way I can really enjoy every minute of it. My birthday is January 5, so the Christmas decor has to be taken down by then. That was my momma’s rule growing up, so now it’s mine. Ha!

Since the last time we talked, Timmy and I got a new puppy! Long story short, Timmy went on a 3 week long work trip in May, and while he was gone we could not stop joking about getting another dog. At first, it was only something we were pretending to talk about. Then, out of no where, Timmy ended up saying, “So are we doing this or no?” Next thing I knew he was bringing home a miniature poodle. We decided to name him Wallen (after Morgan Wallen, of course). He is so freaking cute. He has fit right in to our family. Him and Tito are besties. They play and cuddle non-stop. My favorite thing to do is dress Wally up in little puppy sweatshirts. He had one for halloween that had a skeleton graphic on it, and now he has a little sherpa Christmas sweatshirt. Ridiculous, I know, but he’s so LITTLE! What if he’s cold and I have no idea!

Timmy and I have been major concert people lately. Country concerts were my most-missed activity when COVID arrived, so when we were able to start going again, I had us booked and BUSY! We saw Jason Aldean, and Dierks Bentley this fall, and Brothers Osborne is next weekend.

I’ve also gotten really into spin classes lately. Eliv8 opened up last spring and I’ve been loyal ever since. They’re opening a brand new location soon, and I am pumped about it. I’ve met so many wonderful people through Eliv8 and I know God placed it in my life for a specific purpose.

Oh! Another thing, my little sister just started her senior year! I cannot believe it. She’s been looking at colleges all over and I am so proud of her. I can’t wait to see where God tells her to spend the next 4 years of her life. I’m so, totally envious of her— college is so dang fun.

Anyways, that’s about it! I’ve just been over here in my little Southern MD paradise, soaking up every minute. How are y’all??

XOXO
