Mesh Adidas Gazelle

Mesh Adidas Gazelle

Happy Hump Day! I just wanted to pop in and write about my newest sneaker purchase so you can grab them too (on sale!). If you've been reading Making Joy and Bliss for a while now, you know that Adidas Gazelles are the shoes that I wore almost every single day of my freshman year of college. They're so comfortable, and go with everything. I first saw these shoes at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale but of course they didn't have my size available. I looked around online and grabbed them at Finish Line for about $50! They're usually $80! Click hereto grab a pair!

Friday Five 07.21.17

Friday Five 07.21.17

Helloooooo weekend! Happy Friday! I'm excited to finally share with y'all the first of many posts titled "Friday Five" I wanted a place where I could list my weekly favorites, whether it be something new that arrived at my doorstep in that week, a product that I rediscovered, or even someone's profile on Instagram. This week I got my wisdom teeth removed (ugh), so I spent a lot of time online shopping and just hanging out. Let me know in the comments if you enjoy this style post! xoxo

July Birchbox || Review

July Birchbox || Review

Hey hey hey, Making Joy and Bliss readers! I hope you're having the best Thursday ever! I'm here with yet another beauty box for you. Let me just start by saying, last month's Birchbox was a flop. There wasn't a single thing that I liked, plus, the only product that I thought I'd enjoy arrived damaged. But enough with the negativity from me, because Birchbox turned things around this month! I'm going to start rating each of the products from 1-5, 1 being "wow, that was terrible" to 5 being "I'm totally repurchasing this."

My Independence Day Look || Zara Dress

My Independence Day Look || Zara Dress

More importantly, happy 4th of July! This is my favorite time of the year. Not too close to the end of summer, but definitely deep into the long, beautiful days of summer heat and a nice bronze skin tone.

Usually, I plan my outfit for the 4th weeks in advance, but this year, the holiday really snuck up on me. I ended up just opening up my closet and searching for anything blue or red and this lil cute dress is what caught my eye. I bought it a month ago at Zara and wore it once while running errands (wouldn't recommend wearing it on a windy day, btw #mistake). I typically like to have a brand spankin' new dress for the 4th but I am so in love with this one that I had to wear it again.

The Best of All Beauty Boxes || June Target Beauty Box

The Best of All Beauty Boxes || June Target Beauty Box

Why hello Making Joy and Bliss readers! Long time no blog post! I'm finally back and so excited to get back into it. I've spent the last few months receiving monthly beauty boxes from companies like Birchbox and Ipsy. I have absolutely loved it. There's nothing like the excitement of opening a box full of fresh beauty items to try out. This month I decided to check out Target's monthly box. This is not a subscription like most box services. Target releases a new box on their website each month and reveals everything that's in it so you know exactly what you're getting. I decided to grab the June box mainly because I was frustrated with some of my subscription boxes sending me products that I had no use for. With July approaching, I thought it would be fun to tell you all about the June box in case you were interested in snagging this month's.

April Ipsy Glam Bag || Beauty Subscription Review

April Ipsy Glam Bag || Beauty Subscription Review

A few months ago I signed up for my first subscription service to try out different beauty products. I spent a lot of time researching Ipsy vs. Birchbox and decided to try out Ipsy first. I liked the idea of receiving my products in a different makeup bag every month instead of a box that I would just end up throwing away. I did, however, sign up for Birchbox too after my first Ipsy bag came! They both only cost $10! Anyways, I thought I'd review my first Ipsy box and the products that came with it. Of course, I'll include links to everything so you can try them out too!  If you do want to take advantage of this beauty service, use this link to grab your own!

My Skincare Favorites

My Skincare Favorites

 I think I have finally mastered the perfect skincare routine for me and I thought I'd share with y'all. I have extremely dry and sensitive skin, so finding the right products for me has been quite a challenge. The winter season is usually really tough when it comes to dealing with red, dry, irritated skin. I've also struggled with eczema my entire life, and I've recently found some awesome drugstore products that have worked wonders.

J. Crew Stadium Coat -- H&M Sweater

J. Crew Stadium Coat -- H&M Sweater

The other day I happened to wander into H&M for the first time in years. I ended up walking out with two bags full of sweaters and new denim. One of my favorites pieces is this high-neck sweater which I grabbed in both gray and a camel color. Online they have a total of 6 colors and I want every single one of them. It's a pretty thick material, but I think it's going to be a great piece as we transition into spring (I know, that cold in the morning, warm in the afternoon weather is nearly impossible to dress for).

Zara Coat & Adidas Gazelle

Zara Coat & Adidas Gazelle

Here in Virginia, we're being introduced to little bits of spring here and there. I could not be happier. Sunny and 60 degrees is all takes to make for a splendid day. As y'all know, I live in Adidas sneaks. When I started college I quickly realized that comfort is key. These Gazelles have been mentioned on the blog multiple times, but I just cannot say enough about them. Check them out in tons of colors here.

This coat is from Zara and at first, I almost took a pass on it because I thought it was just another gray piece that would hang in my closet and never be worn. Boy, was I wrong! I love everything about this coat, especially because of how perfectly light it is. I believe it is a cross between a cardigan and a coat and will be a great transition piece as spring approaches.

Rent The Runway || My Experience & Tips

Rent The Runway || My Experience & Tips

 All throughout high school, I lived for school dances. Like many, my absolute favorite part was getting glam. I would spend months looking for the perfect dress for the event to come. I went to an all girls school which meant I had two proms to attend both my junior and senior year. One for my school and another hosted by our brother school. As you can imagine, purchasing dresses for these occasions became costly. I decided to use Rent The Runway to avoid ending up with 4 prom dresses hanging in my closet that I, unfortunately, wouldn't wear again.

With prom season quickly approaching, I'm hoping a guide to taking advantage of all that Rent the Runway has to offer would be helpful. It can be overwhelming at first, but I'm here to help make things a little less chaotic.

"Molly, what do you want for Christmas?"

"A knit hat with a HUGE fur pom pom. I mean, HUGE."

Santa sure did come through on December 25th! This hat is by FurTalk and is only $20 and you can find it on the lovely Amazon here! The best part about it is that the pom pom can be snapped off so that you can throw the knit portion into the washing machine, or if you have more than one, you can mix & match the fur to the hat! It's super warm, and goes with any winter outfit.

Favorite Beauty Products of 2016

Favorite Beauty Products of 2016

This year I tried out a million beauty products and finally narrowed it down to my absolute favorites from the past 12 months. I usually go for a really simple look when it comes to makeup, and I've really fallen in love with curling my hair and working on getting as much volume as possible. The bigger the hair, the closer to God, right? Let me know if you love any of these products too, or if you end up trying any of them out on your own! I've included links to each of the products below!
